I have put together a list of power tools that you should own and the reasons why you should have them. Hope it helps you justify your purchase and lend support to your reasons for buying and owning them.

Power tools can be purchase or rented depending on when you need them. It’s comparatively cheaper compared to hiring someone else to do the job especially if you can do it yourself and if you are the kind of DIY person. Mind you, good power tools don’t come cheap though but it helps make up for itself at the end of the day but helping you accomplish your projects faster at home and can be used for a variety of jobs.

Power screwdriver may look non-essential initially but for those of you who have spend time trying to tighten or remove screws somewhere in the house, you know too well what a luxury help it can be. It takes you mere seconds to tighten that screw when you are putting together something. It’s a good practise to keep your power screwdriver fully charged and ready for use. You never know when it will come in handy and you don’t want to be caught without power when you need it. With changeable tips, you practically don’t need another screwdriver in the house.

Power drill are also very flexible. The investment could be a little high for a start because of the various sizes and type of drill bits that you need for your project. Drill bits are sold in a set which is more cost effective or invidually where you may need special ones for the project that you are working on.
Whether you purchase them in a set or indivually doesn’t make a difference as long as you use the right type of drill to match the type of material that you are drilling into.

Power saw is another tool that some of you will require. Here a four power saws that you should look at when considering which one to buy. With the right combo, they should take care of most of your projects.

Miter saw is relatively cheap and works well cutting angles on the edges of wood and other materials, great for getting the perfect fit on corners on the first try.

The jigsaw is good for placing circular cuts and square cut outs. Most jigsaws are adaptable for a variety of saw blades and are easy to handle. It’s more suitable for fine curved work rather than straight cuts

A circular saw works great for a large variey of work because they can cut through almost any kind material with the right saw blade but it has to be handled with care because many injuries occur with this type of power tool. Remember to always use it with a safety guard attached.

A table saw is a heavy investment but it will last you for years and very handy especially if you are cutting long pieces of material and heavy objects because you have a table to balance them.

Next come the power sander. This tool is debatable since it depends if your projects requires sanding. The power sander can be used to sand many things, including vehicle, furniture and others where you will get a nicer finish in shorter time as compared to sanding by hand (time to complete is relative to the size of your job) with the right grade of sand paper and changing the grade as you go along.

Another debatable power tool is the router. With its large range of accessories, it’s great for engraving and finishing work and you can really start getting creative with your designs making it a tool you don’t want to be without.
