Differences Between Porter-Cable PCCK602L2 and PCCK604L2

I believe many who are looking for Porter-Cable PCCK602L2 and PCCK604L2 would be asking the same question which is why I have come up with this chart to make it easier.

Porter-Cable is one of the oldest brand around and they have quite a bit of history. Short history for those who are not aware of Porter-Cable. They were founded in 1906 and actually developed a niche for portable electrical power tools early on. The company has changed hands to Rockwell, then Pentair, Black and Decker and now Stanley. You can find out more about the company history when you google “Porter-Cable”.

Porter-Cable PCCK602L2 and PCCK604L2 Comparison Table

If you compare these 2 tools, they are almost alike in terms of features with some minor differences. Of course the most outstanding would be the price if it’s a major concern to you.

I think the Porter-Cable PCCK604L2 may have been intended to be a cheaper alternative to the former Porter-Cable PCCK602L2. Their differences and similarities are listed below for a side by side comparison.

Both are meant as light-duty drill and driver combo kit. Although they pack some power, don’t expect them to perform like their corded cousins.

The charge held in those batteries are 1.5Ah and 1.3AH respectively so don’t expect them to hold too much charge. It’s only good enough for about 15 minutes of use before you have to recharge again.

Is Porter-Cable PCCK602L2 Or PCCK604L2 A Better Buy?

Comparing their prices and features and if I have to decide between these 2, I would go for the PCCK602L2 with its higher torque and longer battery life.

Hope their difference are clearer to you with the above chart. Good luck and happy shopping.

Black and Decker LDX120C 20V Cordless Drill Driver Review

Hello and welcome to my Black and Decker LDX120c 20v Cordless Drill Driver page.

A well known brand and receiving 2741 reviews to date  and still counting with 72% giving it a 5 star rating on Amazon for this cordless drill/driver. I would say that this is a very high rating but then as it is with all brands and products, everything comes with some negative reviews too.

Pros of the Black and Decker LDX120C 20V Cordless Drill Driver

  • Battery compatibility to other B&D models
  • Bright colors, making it noticeable and easier to spot if misplaced.
  • Smaller and lighter compared to other battery powered drills thus making it easier to use in confined and harder to reach places. Easier for the average women to handle because of the size and weight.

Cons of the Black and Decker LDX120C 20V Cordless Drill Driver

There seems to be quite a few complaints about:

  • The chuck failing and not able to hold tool bits in place.

The drill has a different setting for torque and drill. If try to set a torque when drilling, the chuck will slip when it reaches a certain tension. If this was the setting used when drilling, then you would be facing slippage for sure. The torque setting is used for driving screws. It’s mean to slip when torque is achieved to prevent over driving.

  • Charging issues and battery not able to hold charge well.

This happens to other devices as well and you might have ended up with lemon in your purchase.

  • Overheating and smoking drill.

Over usage and trying to use for non-stop drilling could and will possibly result in this. If you can feel the heat building up, stop and let the drill have a rest before continuing with your work.

Is The B&D LDX120C Cordless Drill A Good Buy?

In my opinion, the B&D LDX120C cordless drill is suitable for home DIY. Not a suitable drill if you are a pro. Although it runs on 20V, this drill lacks some torque and speed. It’s meant more for home DIY. If you are a pro, you would definitely want to look for a drill that has more torque and speed.

The Black and Decker LDX120C Cordless Drill comes with warranty so should you decide to buy it, make sure you inspect your drill carefully upon receipt and test it out before the expiration of exchange/return and not wait till it’s too late.
I hope that this review is helpful to you.

Good luck and happy shopping!
